Independent agronomists are a very important asset to the farming industry
we would like to keep them around
for a very long time.
We know that as an independent consultant, you can give your unbiased advice which is extremely valuable in the industry and we want to keep you connected with as many farmers as possible.
At Ag-Q, we want to help the agronomic industry be the most beneficial to the most producers as it can be. Independent agronomics is a fragmented industry by nature which keeps it unbiased and that is very good, but that has also hindered marketing to the broader market much of which independent consultants are missing. As current working agronomists, we know that there are many who do see the value in a full-time consultant being on their acres every week. We know that they want the full package and will pay for that package. These full-package producers are not our target market. Have you ever thought about the majority of people who do not have a full-time agronomist walking their fields?
Whatever their reasons be, they just don’t want a full-time consultant, but they still have times throughout the year where they could benefit from one for concern or a question. Instead of them going to an outfit without a knowledge base or listening to hearsay through the coffee shop, they can be connected to you, an agronomist. That is where Ag-Q comes in. We connect those farmers to you, the consultant, for those questions. You can then check the field, write a one-time recommendation, and then they can have the answers that they need while keeping farming strong in Nebraska.
Look out the window at your truck,
it may be a platinum edition or it may be a more standard edition, which is called market segmentation. Truck companies have different editions to target different markets according to customer preferences. That is what Ag-Q is helping you offer. A good and helpful, but not premium, service to the broader market in order to capture as many customers as possible and help the producer and the agronomist.
Questions you may get,
but not limited to:
Sufficient plant population/replant decisions
Weed and herbicide concerns
Storm damage/related issues and second opinions
Insect and disease recommendations
Questions on crop vigor (answer to what went wrong so they don’t do it again)
Water schedule/final irrigation (we will have a start date they can begin asking about final irrigation- likely the 3rd or 4th week in august)
Yield estimates

FAQs
How are we protected?
Protection of services- contract that the customer signs that says their information listed is correct. Ex: if a field is organic, they listed it as organic. There is a client portal where they can access their stored information, just like your portal stores your information. Ag-Q must be carbon copied (CC’d) on all emails to ensure that we are storing your recommendations for the producer.
How are you paid?
$225/recommendation. You will receive a payment once a month to your account for services rendered. If you do not check the field and return the recommendation within the 7 day time-frame from when it was listed (listed, not accepted by you!), you will not be paid. 7 days is plenty of time.
How do we accept a job and how much time do we have to fulfill the request?
You will have 7 days from the day it is posted. So if you accept the request on day 4, you will have 3 days to return the recommendation to us. You must return the recommendation in that time frame in order to be paid.
How do we send their recommendation?
You send them directly to the producer via their e-mail and Carbon Copy (CC) Ag-Q connect on every email so we can keep a detailed file of your recommendations for your protection in both portals.
Are we trying to take full-time customers from agronomists?
No, we are targeting customers who see the benefit in an agronomist, but do not want to pay an agronomist to walk their fields under contract for a full year. This is making your market much larger and making it much easier to connect with these customers.
